Repeat prescription

You can request repeat prescriptions for chronic medication 24 hours a day (including weekends) in 2 ways:

1. Via the patient portal

You can request repeat prescriptions online via the patient environment on the website. However, you must first register. Please note that after creating an account, it can take up to 7 days before the account is active.

2. Via the prescription line (telephone)

Call your own GP's practice phone number and select the prescription line option. Select option 2.

The prescription line will automatically ask you the following questions:

  • The name of your GP
  • Name and date of birth of the person the prescription is for
  • Street and house number of your address
  • Name or names of the medicines you are ordering (keep the boxes handy!)
  • Name of your own pharmacy

Which medication can you request?

You can only request prescriptions for medicines that you use on the advice of your GP or specialist chronically (usually daily).

If you wish to request medicines for newly occurring complaints or temporary medicines - that you received for a specific period - do not reorder them via the prescription line or website. For this, you can call the practice assistant during office hours; if necessary, your GP will be consulted about your request.

When will your medication be ready?

If you call the prescription line or order a prescription via the website before 12:00 noon, you can collect your medicines from your own pharmacy 2 working days later (from 15:00 they are ready).

Examples:

  • If you call/email on Tuesday evening, your medicines will be ready at the pharmacy on Friday.
  • If you call/email on Friday afternoon after 12:00 noon or during the weekend, you can collect your medicines on Wednesday after 15:00.
